The two platforms supported and participated in a communications seminar organized by Brazil’s far right Liberal Party, where they offered training on the use of artificial intelligence, content automation, and digital persuasion strategies. The event, held in Fortaleza, was attended by former pressident Jair Bolsonaro.
On May 30, the Liberal Party’s (PL) Second National Communication Seminar was held, with the explicit support and participation of representatives from Meta, Google, and CapCut, the most widely used video editing app for social media. The first edition of this event had already been held in Brasília in February, with the participation of Meta, TikTok, and Google, and was deemed a success by the party’s leadership.
In this edition, Ricardo Vilella (Google), Felipe Ventura (Meta) and Jhon Henrique, Vitor Reels and Dan Maker (a technical team linked to CapCut) presented at the Ceará Events Center (Fortaleza), before an auditorium packed with young activists, parliamentary advisors, influencers and digital marketing professionals.
The event had been promoted with a program focused on sharing “best practices, presenting success stories, and aligning guidelines for more integrated, strategic, and efficient action across networks, the press, and territories.” Indeed, representatives from tech companies presented practical tutorials on how to automate videos, train artificial intelligence systems to create political content, enhance WhatsApp Business messages, and even generate entire podcasts with synthetic voices. The Big Tech presentations were “master classes” on how to win the battle for attention on social media using artificial intelligence tools”, it was reported.
The first to speak was Felipe Ventura, a business education trainer at Meta. The executive began by inviting those present to download the Meta AI app, the company’s artificial intelligence assistant, which allows users to work with text, videos, and photos. He explained what prompts are—the instructions we give a system to perform tasks—and offered tips for making commands more efficient.
Ventura also presented WhatsApp Business as a new option for political communication, with more artificial intelligence capabilities. The executive emphasized that automated messaging could not only be used to talk to friends, family, and coworkers, “but also to influence and convince people to buy a product or an idea.”
Google offered training sessions focused on tools like Gemini and Google Trends. “This type of initiative helps professionals from diverse fields understand new technologies, including artificial intelligence,” the company stated.
Meanwhile, technical representatives from CapCut offered tips on how to create “impactful videos.” The event also featured a brief appearance by former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, who remarked “It’s a good thing the big tech companies are on the right side,” and emphasised the importance for the Liberal Party of “investing in the potential of artificial intelligence for political communication.” Bolsonaro also addressed digital creators with a wide reach on social media: “The work of each of you influencers is the flame, the certainty that victory will one day come.”
